Yvette V. Huerta, EdD, serves as the Director of Institutional Effectiveness at El Paso Community College. She is responsible for the continuous improvement of the College and serves as a resource on several college improvement and equity efforts. Before serving as the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Dr. Huerta was the Director of Curriculum and Instructional Development, where she oversaw 150 credit programs and assisted in Guided Pathways, Student Success, and Equity initiatives to close barriers facing many non-traditional community college students.

Dr. Huerta has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a joint master’s degree in Transborder Governance and Public Administration from San Diego State University and la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California. This program was one of its kind, as it was funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Mexico TIES (Training, Internships, Exchanges, and Scholarships). The initiative paired individuals from both sides of the US/Mexico border to function as a collaborative program between transborder public, private, and higher education institutions, to create a bilateral alliance. Dr. Huerta has a doctorate in Education; and cares deeply about her community.
